Medical Office Administration and Support
As primary healthcare teams in Ontario endeavor to make inroads in quality improvement and enhanced patient care, the role of the Medical Support Staff cannot be underestimated. A patient’s FHT experience begins with the front-line staff, who are crucial to creating a culture of improvement and interprofessional team building, with the goal of improving access, reducing wait-times and managing chronic-care.
The Office Staff are an integral part of a primary healthcare team's ability to meet its goals in the provision of equally-accessible, high-quality, patient-centered care, and by recognizing and responding to cultural and ethnic differences and to the special needs of individuals by: Providing clerical, reception and/or administrative support to the organization; assisting in the quality of care through the management of accurate records; ensuring the accurate recording and retrieval of electronic data; and assisting with the communication of information.
